More Than $640,000 in Grants Awarded to Fire, Ambulance Companies in Fayette County, Say Warner, Krupa

February 11, 2025

HARRISBURG – Reps. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette) and Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) today announced that fire and ambulance companies in the county will collectively receive $642,670 in state grants to support their public safety mission.

“We are blessed by the outstanding fire and emergency service personnel who selflessly serve our communities, protecting lives and property,” Warner said. “These grants not only show our appreciation but also aim to relieve some of the financial challenges facing these organizations.”

“We owe our safety and peace of mind to our first responders,” Grimm Krupa said. “This funding will help our EMTs, paramedics and firefighters maintain their high standards of safety, preparedness and organizational survival. This doesn’t just benefit our first responders; it benefits all of Fayette County.”

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature and administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not General Fund tax revenue.

Grants may be used toward construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, recruitment and retention, or debt. In order to receive their funding, each organization must file a grant agreement with OSFC.
