Grimm Krupa: $7.1 Million Awarded for Uniontown Water Project
April 15, 2026
UNIONTOWN – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) announced today the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has awarded a low-interest loan of $7.1 million to the Greater Uniontown Joint Sewage Plant Authority for a water infrastructure project.
The authority is working on a project to replace its ultraviolet (UV) system. This includes modifications to the existing UV channel; construction of new dual parallel UV channels; installation of two new UV systems; construction of a new flow splitter box and flow control equipment; new electrical service to the new UV system; associated interconnecting piping; and demolition of the existing UV system once the new system is in operation.
“This funding is crucial to help move this project forward,” Grimm Krupa said. “This support makes a real difference for the greater Uniontown area, giving people the safe, reliable infrastructure they deserve. We’re excited to put these dollars to work and deliver improvements that will last well into the future.”
PENNVEST, established in 1988, funds the design and construction of drinking water, wastewater and storm water projects across Pennsylvania.
