Grimm Krupa: More Than $1.5 Million in Natural Gas Impact Fees Awarded to 51st District

June 16, 2026

SMITHFIELD – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) announced Fayette County will receive more than $952,000 in impact fees from the natural gas industry. In addition, the municipalities in the 51st Legislative District will receive an additional $556,000.

Impact fees are levied in addition to regular business taxes paid by every corporation in Pennsylvania. The disbursements were established in 2012 to ensure communities affected by drilling receive their fair share of funding for projects such as road and bridge repairs, housing and other infrastructure needs.

“These impact fees make sure the communities where drilling happens actually see real benefits,” Grimm Krupa said. “They help fix roads, fund first responders, protect our environment and ease the strain energy development can put on local services. It’s a simple, practical way to balance economic growth while holding the energy industry accountable.”

A complete list of disbursements to counties and municipalities is available on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission’s website at www.puc.state.pa.us.
