How to Request Local and State Government Records
Transparency is essential to a healthy and accountable government. When citizens have access to public information, they can better understand how decisions are made, how taxpayer dollars are spent and how their government is serving them.
That’s why I hosted a virtual event this spring to help residents learn how to request local and state government records in Pennsylvania.
This presentation features a representative from the Office of Open Records, who walked participants through the Commonwealth’s Right-to-Know Law and explain how residents can request public records from both local and state government agencies.
This meetings covers the basics of filing a request, what information is available and how citizens can exercise their right to government transparency.
An informed public is a stronger public, and every Pennsylvanian should know how to access the information their government keeps on their behalf.
